Monmouth County Parks offers a wide range of programs and activities every season… programs on nature, arts, health, safety, skills, cooking, etc. etc. I sign up for a range of activities every season and they help make my life so much more enjoyable as I break from the daily grind. I appreciate that they offer “after work” programs in the evenings as well. The naturalists and instructors are all wonderful, knowledgeable, and fun… they love what they do! I think it’s awesome that the parks maintain live maps of their trails on the explorer app. Sometimes I get a little turned around on the trails and the app is a huge help. Keep up the amazing work MCPS! I appreciate all you do!

Monmouth County has the best park system in NJ. My children took many classes and camps here, and we have visited many of the parks. And the beaches are beautiful. Five stars.

Nice place. Open space, woods and the reservoir of course. Even getting there is nice (and simple).

Many options for kids of every age and interest. While a few toys are closed for repair there are enough for everyone to have fun.
If you’re visiting the sprayground this is a great followup to dry off and relax.

Incredible park! It’s absolutely gorgeous and has a ton of amenities. There are so many trails that make you feel like you’re in a fairytale forest while you’re navigating them. I’ve taken classes in most of the buildings… the visitor’s center is breathtaking. The Creative Arts Building is a wonderful place to create. What a wonderful place.

Nice park with a 4+ mile paved track to walk or bike. Blue trail loop to hike around the reservoir and a lake for canoeing. You can rent the canoes by the lake. The park also hosts numerous festivals during summers.

Love this park. 2 playgrounds, lots of trails, a pond, and livestock. It’s easy to fish here with lots of spots around the pond, but finding an area in the shade that is available can be tricky. Always plenty of parking, but not always in the area we want to visit. There is a nice paved path for bikes and in the winter they have sledding. There is a covered pavilion with picnic tables and 2 locations with restrooms.

It’s a wonderful place to take a hike through the forest or field trails, enjoy the blossoms, fish, sled, sit by a fire, and even enjoy visiting the farm animals. During Winter, weather permitting there is a ski hill and skating pond as well. Plus I never miss the Arboretum once Spring has Sprung!

Yet another wonderful cooking class with Chef Peter–in this class, we made a half dozen different kinds of delicious salmon! Chef is full of hints and helpful suggestions based on his years of culinary experience. An awesome program, well worth the cost! Be ready to register at 8 am the first day it is available, or you you might be closed out! This year, they ran a second evening to accommodate those on the wait list. That class was also filled. Bring a cooking partner and ENJOY!

We stopped for a quick night time visit to the shore. The sound of my kids giggling and squealing was the most beautiful sound imaginable. It was stunning area, very clean and welcoming. We can’t wait to return next summer.

GPS directions take you through a neighborhood and that was a little strange however, the building is really cute and it was nice to visit a new spot that I haven’t been to before. Especially as we were attending the spring fair and I enjoy supporting Monmouth county Parks.

The staff here is great and friendly. We paid $35 for the family Eggstravagant Easter Egg hunt event. Wish there were more information because it was more for kids agreed up to 6 years at most. Way too expensive and I wish their website had more information about what to expect.
They have a pool table, 3 foosball tables, a ping-pong table tennis, a bumper pool table and an air hockey table.

The perfect beach playground. All sorts of swings, including bucket b swing, two separate side for smaller and older kids, beside the parking lot, but fenced off. Beach is two minutes away, restroom is one minute. Shade for the grown-ups. Lots of benches too. The ground under the toys is covered with gummi

It is amazing to me all of the cool parks and historical places in NJ. This was my first time here. A really nice visitor’s center with a movie that explains the battle that happened here. The grounds are well maintained, there is a ton of parking and all different trails that you can take. There are also picnic benches. A nice place to spend an afternoon.

Lots of rich Revolutionary War history to be experienced here. There are paved trails near the visitor center. There are clean bathrooms, but the hours are limited. The museum has finally reopened with limited hours. Plenty of benches and picnic tables, so people have parties and barbecues here. The unpaved trails are great because they have a little bit of elevation change (I mean, this IS the coastal plain). However, it took me a while to learn how the wooded trails all connect. This park offers my best workout close to home. I trained here for hiking the Grand Canyon (the hill behind the visitor center gets my heart pumping). People sled down this hill in winter.

great place to apple pick and the country store is amazing. Famous for their apple cider donuts. Nobody and I mean nobody has a better donut. They are served hot and man oh man are they amazing.
